It was an honor to spend time with him and I really learned so much about having a Biblical/missional world view and how to influence others in the same. As I mentioned in last weeks e-news, I not only serve as your foreign missionary, I serve to help mobilize all our partners to be on mission for God so you can make a difference in the World.

Take chances, make mistakes. That’s how you grow.

The successful man will profit from his mistakes and try again in a different way.
-Dale Carnegie

While in Cuba I made a few mistakes and grew a little. I want to share my experience with you in hope that it’ll encourage you that God is still in control, even when you think you mess up.

I delivered an evangelistic message during a church service.

My first mistake was when I preached on how Peter stepped out on faith to follow Christ.

The Cuban’s really laughed when I asked, “How many of you have ever got into a boat like Peter did?”

Why did they laugh?

Because getting in a boat is associated with trying to escape Cuba by defecting to Florida via water.

Cultural mistakes like this are common among missionaries, fortunately my mistake didn’t get me into big trouble.

Baseball players receive Christ

Jesus wants us all to take chances and step out on faith

There was a cuban baseball team attending the service and several of these athletics raised their hand indicating they wanted to follow Christ.  I then invited everyone to step out on faith and come to the front of the Church.

I felt bad because all the baseball players didn’t come forward. I told myself,
“Ed, you blew it!”

Note: I messed up because many church visitors often associate going to the front of the church with a church membership, not an invitation to follow Christ.

Where I am weak, God is strong

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. . For when I am weak, then I am strong.  II Cor 12:9-11

However I did do something right. I felt God wanted me to ask everyone to step out on faith and I obeyed God by giving that invitation.

Ruben receives a gift from God
Ruben receives a gift from God

Ruben was one of the persons who came forward for prayer.  Although Ruben gave me a small gift after the service, I didn’t think much about it until I received this translated letter from Ruben:

“The day you prayed for me I was very afflicted with health. When you laid hands on me and prayed for me your hands were anointed by the Lord and I immediately received divine healing in my aching body.

But something even more extraordinary happened when I received that anointing from God and I fell there on the bench of the church,…

said “Oh, Lord God you are wonderful!.

I hadn’t been able to praise him like that for a long time.”

I want to encourage you. Even when you think everything’s wrong, you can be sure of this, He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. (Phil 1:6)

Thank you for your prayers and financial partnership!.

You help make it possible for these praise reports to continue even when I occasionally blow it.

It’s True: You really can have a higher purpose in life. And here it is….

“Declare His Glory Among the Nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples!” Psalm 96:3

So many of us are struggling to find a higher purpose and real meaning in life. Perhaps you too want to be a person who makes a difference while at the same time being fulfilled in life.

It's True: You really can have a higher purpose in life. And here it is....

Last week I wrote an article about “Where there is no vision” being the most misquoted Bible verse during new year.  To help you not only have God’s vision but also His mission I wrote today’s article. I believe this message will add value to your life and help you discover your greater purpose in life. I’d love for you to read it…

My “rock your world” moment

I went to Bible college and served as a missionary for 25 years before I discovered what I’m about to share with you. This realization was life changing to me.

It was January of 2014 when I took the perspectives course in Pensacola Florida.

A couple of classes into the course I was shocked to hear about God’s main mission. flomax price communicate For years I thought that God’s purpose was simply to seek and save the lost.

Here’s the revelation that rocked my world and gave me a new-found mission and purpose in life:

http://www.thefreeenterpriseinstitute.org/30661-flovent-price.html “Declare His Glory Among the Nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples!”

“Declare His Glory Among the Nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples!” Psalm 96:3

rosuvastatin price “God’s purpose is global worship of Him.”

You may be as surprised as I was to discover that declaring God’s Glory to all nations is assist arcoxia usa the misional theme of the entire Bible.

You may be surprised to know that God's main purpose is NOT just for you to be saved or go to church.God's purpose is for you to fulfill His purpose. Salvation alone just isn’t enough. It’s like repeating a one time prayer and attending church regularly. It just doesn’t quite hit the mark. God desires a relationship and not just a verbal commitment or works. God deeply desires for us to worship Him in spirit and truth .This involves loving Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength as defined in the Great Commandment (Mark 12:30; Luke 10:27).  Then we should declare that love (His Glory) to others all over the World.

In my article Salvation and Churches Are NOT God’s Main Purpose I make it clear that salvation is not God’s main purpose.

God's Purpose Is to be worshipped by people from all humanityGod desires that people from all Nations get an opportunity and the privilege to worship Him.

God’s Purpose is for the Nations to Worship Him

Once I discovered this I began to shift my thinking from that of soul winning to that of helping everyone glorify God. That’s why if you read about us you’ll discover that I not only want to help you follow and obey Christ, I want to help you find your purpose, make a difference and become fulfilled in life.

Why do I get out of bed every morning?

I believe “Everyone in the World should have an opportunity to worship God”. That’s my “why”in life.

Most of us live our lives by accident — we live as it happens.

Fulfillment comes when we live our lives on purpose.

where to buy priligy online So what should be your purpose?

Psalms 96 provides the answer. God has made you for global purposes. God has made you for something very large….

Your life mission or purpose should not only be to tell of his salvation from day-to-day, but to Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!Ps 96: 2-3

Jesus saves people so they can worship GodOur first priority is to declare to people the truth about God’s glory.

We should declare God’s Glory “among the nations, among all the peoples.” All of them. Leave none out.

That’s why it’s so important to reach the those who have never had an opportunity to worship God . Everybody everywhere (from every Nation) should be summoned to join in, ascribing Glory to God (vs.7). All peoples should be warned to turn from idol worship (vs 5) so they can escape judgement (vs 10 & 13) and give God the eternal Glory he deserves.

I love this verse in Psalm 96:3 and I Chronicles 16:24.  In fact it’s the heart and soul of what we do. It’s not just our vision, it fulfills God’s vision.

But how can you apply this verse to your life so you can live with purpose? I’ll share about that in my next article.

Perspectives will rock your world, I guarantee it. Check out the first class for FREE at Globe International on January 9th

What’s the Most Misquoted New Year’s Bible Verse?

Why where there is no vision is the most misquoted Bible verse during new year.

Why where there is no vision is the most misquoted Bible verse during new year.“Where there is no vision” (Proverbs 29:18) is the most misquoted Bible verse during new year. I’d like to explain why I believe this in the following article…

At this time of the year many Christians and leaders use Proverbs 29:18 because of its emphasis on vision,

“Where there is no vision, the people perish:” KJV

Proverbs 29:18 is misquoted because it’s NOT about OUR personal goals

Yes, you were made to have vision and make a difference by reaching a higher goal. However, I believe this verse is not only one of the most misquoted New years passages, but also one of the most misunderstood in the Bible.

This new year’s season Christians will quote this passage as they include goals for making their life better along with new year’s resolutions. Perhaps church leaders will quote this verse as they speak of a vision to construct great buildings or ministry facilities.

Come on! Do you actually think people will perish because you can’t stop smoking, you don’t lose weight, or the church construction project isn’t finished?
Well … maybe YOU will perish, since heart disease and cancer are the leading causes of death in the U.S.A.

While there is nothing wrong with goal setting or having a building to meet in, this passage is  NOT talking about fulfilling YOUR vision, your destiny, or your hopes and dreams.

God’s vision is “that no one should perish”.

Here’s a photocopy of a poster that I got back in the 1980’s from New Tribes Mission. It is very vivid because it shows unsaved people walking off a cliff and falling into the eternal flames of hell:

Where there is no vision the people perish -Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision the people perish.

No vision”; These two words are also translated in other versions of the Bible as “no word from God” and “no revelation”.

Proverbs 29:18 is actually speaking of what happens when the Word of God is neglected, ignored or unheard.

“Where there is no vision” simply means no teaching of the Word of God.  1 Samuel 3:1 speaks of the prophets proclaiming the Word of God to the people through visions.  Also see Amos 8:11-12.

People perish because they have never heard a Word from God. Many living souls like this Asian taxi driver don’t even know what a Bible is. They have no hope.

In fact, of the World’s 7.47 billion people, over 3 billion people of them have never had an opportunity to hear the Word of God.

II Peter 3:9 expresses the heart of God in that He doesn’t wish for ‘any to perish but for all to come to repentance.’ Seeking and saving the lost is why Christ came. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

But how can they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? Romans 10:13-18

That’s why I’m compelled to share the life-changing gospel message with these unreached people , who so desperately need truth and hope in their lives. Globe Internationals UPG initiative is a great solution for proclaiming God’s word to perishing people.

Those Who Hear the Word of God Are Happy

Simply put, “the people perish” without the Word of God!

But what about the rest of this verse?

“but he that keepeth the law, happy (or blessed) is he.”

Psalm 19:7-11 says the law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

In Matthew 28:19 -20 We are told to go and make disciples of all Nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey all God’s commands or laws.

The 1568 Bishops Bible  states: When the Word of God is not preached, the people perish: but well is him that keeps the law. (modern English)

When someone hears the word of God and obeys it by following Christ he is well, he is happy, he’s blessed!

So the TRUE meaning of Proverbs 29:18 is ,

Where the Word of God is neglected, ignored, not heard, or not preached forth, the people will perish; But those who do hear the Word of God AND obey it, are happy and blessed!

Making God’s Vision our Vision

Yes, it’s true, to accomplish anything significant in life you must first have a mission, a goal, a hope, a vision.

But what if we make God’s vision our main purpose?

Here’s my New years vision. It’s not just my vision, it fulfills God’s vision:

“Declare His Glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples!”

Psalms 96:3

You can view more about this vision here:  6 Answers to Questions About Our Vision .

It’s True: You Really Have A Greater Purpose In Life. And Here it is…

So many of us are struggling to find a higher purpose and real meaning in life. Perhaps you too want to be a person who makes a difference while at the same time being fulfilled in life.

To help you not only have God’s vision but also His mission, I wrote an article to help you discover your greater purpose in life.

This new year, I hope you will also adopt God’s vision to proclaim His Glory in all Nations so people will obey Him, be happy and not perish.

Do you think I’m right by stating that Proverbs 29:18 is the most misquoted Bible verse during the New Year?

I appreciate your input below.

Taxi Driver in Southeast Asia Hears About the Bible for the First Time

Storytelling with young people

You know what a bible is but 2 out of every 5 people on Earth don’t even know what a Bible is

Andre Provost and I have been in Southeast Asia ministering to people who have never had an opportunity to hear about Christ.

People of PeaceWe just visited one Asian nation where we’re not free to openly preach the Gospel. I asked you to please pray that God would lead us to “people of peace” and God was faithful to lead us to Tr?ong and Linda. They’re English teachers who helped us facilitate Biblical storytelling groups in their Country. Please continue to pray for God to lead us to more receptive people who can change their community.

Storytelling with young people
Storytelling with young people

We shared Bible stories with many groups of English students and have a lot of great testimonies but here’s a story of a person who God had prepared his heart to hear:
Upon entering a taxi we discovered the driver spoke English so I shared the story of David and Goliath with him.

We told him the story came from the most popular book of all time.

He was very intrigued about our story.

Then we asked him what he liked about the story.
He replied that it reminded him of a similar story about people being led out of captivity. He had watched the movie, “The Prince of Egypt” 3 times.

We told him that story also came from the same book.
He asked,

“What’s the name of this book?”

“This most read book is called the Bible”, we replied.
Then he asked,

“How can I read this book?

We told him how to get a Bible and as we begin to share more Good News with him he was very thankful.

It’s so sad. Out of over 7 billion people in the World, there are over 3 billion people just like him who don’t know what a Bible is.

How can they follow Jesus Christ if they have never even heard of Him before?
